Water is everything for a skin. Without it skin cannot take care of itself. But do you really know why water causes wrinkles on our skin? It has few elements that react with our skin when in contact. Many skin care experts suggest that drinking water is good for our skin. This is true. It plays an important role in our skin’s beauty. That’s the true nature of the water. It is the most important thing in a human life.
Water And Skin Care
For the human body, water is the most necessary nutrient for sustained healthy living. It stimulates the circulation of fluids, blood and other important elements in our body.
Hot water removes blackheads and reduces the size of the large pores present on our skin. A human cannot survive for more than two days without water.
For a healthy body, an average of 5 liters of this life-sustaining nutrient is required. Most parts of our body consist of H2O in the first place. It is responsible for the healthy development of the skin and hair too.
Why does water cause wrinkles on the body?
If in contact for too long, water causes skin to wrinkle. This happens because it washes off the sebum.
Sebum is an oily substance generated on the surface of the skin, in other words, referred to as the epidermis. The main function of the sebum is to prevent the penetration of water into the lower layers of the skin.
When in excess, the sebum begins to inflate with the retained water which begins to causes deep wrinkles in the skin. The most affected parts are the fingertips and toe tips. The reason for this is that the tips of the fingers and toes hold excess water since they contain large amounts of sebum.
The skin gets back to its normal condition once the excess moisture evaporates. This natural reaction of the skin is not considered to be problem, or an issue that one should be worried about.
Water in the skin
Water is the very element that prevents the skin from getting dehydrated and dry. As mentioned above, the human skin consists of 90% water.
In the absence of the proper levels of water in the body, our skin begins to dry up and become unhealthy. An important point to remember is that dehydration does have any major life-changing effect on our skin, but it can also cause harm to the vital organs of our body like the kidneys and lungs.

Have you tried checking all those cosmetic products that you have at home? I’m shocked when I found out that everything starting from shampoos, body wash, soaps, conditioners and even some of those kids stuff that I had before all included parabens as part of their ingredients. Now I wonder how long have I been using them because it seems to be years now and that gives a shiver in my spine. I probably should have thought of using paraben free products back then.
We should actually be concerned of using products that includes parabens as part of their ingredients; various studies have shown that these substances affect the body systems such as the reproductive and endocrine system. Parabens are substances that have the ability to penetrate into the blood stream and they pile up on our system for a long period of time which may cause allergies in the future. So the best way to prevent from getting this type of issues in the future, we should then try using paraben free products especially for our skin.
The skin is the largest organ that protects our body from the harmful elements in our environment. Anything that you apply to your skin will be absorbed by it and eventually by the other organs in the body. That is why we have to be that cautious in choosing the products that we put into our skin to make sure that we don’t feel sorry in the end for not knowing.
The good news is that there are concerned cosmetic companies and manufacturers that have use natural ingredients to produce paraben free products in the market today. Since paraben acts as an antibacterial agent and a preservative, these concerned companies have found another way to use natural ingredients instead as an alternative.
An example of a natural ingredient which has the same function is active manuka honey. Active manuka honey is not only known with regard to its healing properties; this ingredient by itself also has antibacterial qualities that may be helpful for skin renewal and the skin rejuvenation process. Another is natural vitamin E which serves as a natural agent in nurturing the skin. Paraben free products that use natural ingredients don’t need parabens because they don’t need to preserve their products that long and that is why they are found more effective
Beware of those products that have parabens because they are not skin friendly at all. It’s best to choose paraben free products that use natural ingredients, you’ll know that your skin is safe and your health is being protected as well.
